I thought, I would not say that, but the Raygun is trash now.
Raygun is amazing. 35 hit splash damage with 8 rounds and a short reload? And it takes up the pistol slot? Insane. I like the Death Ray, its recoil is a little annoying but it makes up for it by being hipfire-able. The Minigun is just abysmal, though. I feel like people overestimate it because of the novelty of it being a big gun. Its DPS is pretty low, the overheat mechanic is completely redundant, and the fact that you have to wait a while before it actually starts firing is honestly enough for it to be terrible. I don't think I've ever been killed by a player with a Minigun and any high ranked players I run into aren't using it.
I always pick up a mini gun whenever I see one. It has very low and controllable recoil with insanely fast speeds. If you can time your shooting well it can be devastating to your opponents.
I ignore any weapon from the red crate, unless it's the Uzi-S, that's a nice weapon to finish someone of when you get that 80 damage on them with the AWP and they're low. But to be honest, when I'm a hero, I have this loadout, and this hero on me:
-Archer
-AWP
-SPAS
-Deagle/Uzi-S (If I find one)
-Baton/Knife/Baseball bat (I never use the baseball bat to be honest)
-Granades
Oh and yeah, I forgot to menetion, why the Ray Gun sucks now:
Pros
-It does not go through vehicles
-It can hit flying enemies (Titans, Phantoms, Infernos)
-It still has trouble damaging faster heroes/villains (Hotrod, Raven, Rykou (If I spelled that right) , Proton, Frostbite and Archer)
-When you try to shoot the feet of the oponnent you still don't damage him
-The shockwaves or whatever those are, they fly slowly
-There's barely any splash-damage
Cons
-You can confuse the enemy with the shockwaves
Ok, most of the reasons you just wrote down is user error. Like, having trouble damaging faster hero’s like Hotrod?!?! That’s your own fault if you can’t damage them. If your aim sucks, you can’t blame the gun lol. The AOE (“splash damage”) is a little smaller than the rpg but still it’s good. The projectile flies slowly yes but not too slowly. The ray gun is mostly used for long range combat if the target is in a compact area or is non moving for example like bosses. Short range for close combat if you spam the projectiles on the ground.
Cons
-You can confuse the enemy with the shockwaves
What is that even supposed to mean and how is that a con?
What do you think?
