Crates are interactive objects that fall from the sky at random times at predetermined locations. When a crate is falling, a red flare particle is emitted at the location it will land.

Red Crates

Red Crates are crates that grant the player who searches it a weapon. Only one player can search a red crate, and, upon searching one, it will disappear. Currently, there are two weapons that can be obtained via Red Crates. These weapons are the Ray Gun, and the Minigun. Before the release of Chapter 2, the Uzi-S, was obtainable through red crates, and, before they were purchasable at the Police Base, the Tear Gas and Riot Shield were obtainable through Red Crates.

Green Crates

Green Crates, otherwise known as Cash Crates, were crates that would award the player cash, however, with the release of the Chapter 2 update, they were removed. When they landed, a player would need to stand within the circle around the crate to secure it. The more players within the circle, the faster the crate would be secured, and the faster the music would play. If a Police or Hero enters the circle while the crate is being secured, the progress bar would pause, preventing the crate to be secured until they leave the circle. Once secured, any player within the circle would be awarded 3,500(7,000 with VIP), and 250(500 with Double XP)

Trivia

• The golden crate variant for the green crate was removed in Season 6.
• The green crate was the only mini heist that is affected by the VIP game pass, as well as being the only mini heist that grants .
• All red crate-specific weapons cannot have weapon skins applied to them.
• If a Hero or Villain with a power searches a red crate and is given a Minigun, the player won't be given the item, and the crate will disappear.
  • This is due to players with powers not being able to equip primary weapons.
• The new flare particle for the crates was added near the bunker in the March 22nd, 2022 update.
