Game modes were a variety of purchasable multiplayer matches, each with their own unique objective. They were added on July 12th, 2020.
For the unknown reasons, game modes were removed in the May 27th, 2021 update.
They could have been accessed via the Phone's "Modes" app. Here, players could purchase and exchange game tokens. Game tokens cost 20,000 each and could have been exchanged to initiate a game mode. When a player selected a mode, all other players would have been prompted to choose whether or not they will participate. If no players opted-in, the game mode would not start and the token would not be consumed. In private servers, game modes did not require game tokens to activate, but would freeze any progress made if a game mode was initiated.
Players currently in a game mode could not damage or be damaged by non-participants. Additionally, non-participants would appear semi-transparent.
Participants are teleported to the Prison for a free-for-all. Each player starts with a random weapon which is replaced by another random weapon upon killing another player. The first to get 22 kills wins. For the duration of the minigame, participants are placed in the Neutral team. Players can receive game pass weapons regardless of whether or not they own the respective game pass, as well as the Lazerblade.
Participants are split into two teams and fight in the Prison. The first team to accumulate 50 kills wins. Players receive a random loadout consisting of any primary, secondary, tertiary, melee weapon, and a grenade at the start of the game and when they respawn after death. If this game mode takes place long enough, it will automatically end and the player who spent their token will get it back. For the duration of the minigame, participants are split evenly between Team Red and Team Blue.
Hide n Seek
Players are teleported to either the construction site, downtown park, or Paradise Pier and enclosed by invisible walls. One random player is selected as the seeker and blinded for a minute while all others hide. Once the minute has passed, the seeker has five minutes to shoot and kill each hider with the Seeker Gun. If the seeker fails, all surviving hiders win. For the duration of the minigame, participants are placed in the Neutral team.
Participants are teleported to one of the various preset locations and are given an AK47 to shoot targets. The first player to earn 30,000 points wins. For the duration of the minigame, participants are placed in the Neutral team.
Participants are randomly teleported to one of the various preset locations and enclosed by invisible walls. One player is randomly selected to be the Murderer, another the Sheriff, and the remaining are Innocent. The status of each player is not made immediately known to other participants. The Murderer, armed with the Infected Knife, has the objective of killing all other players before the time runs out, all the while they evade death by the Sheriff, whose goal is to defeat the murderer with the Sheriff Deagle. In the event the Sheriff is defeated, they will drop the Sheriff Deagle for any Innocents to pick up and take their place. The Sheriff is able to shoot innocents, however, both parties will die instantly, causing them both to lose the game. The Innocents are unarmed - their objective is to convince the Sheriff of their innocence and survive until the Murderer is defeated. The Murderer wins if they succeed in killing all other players. The Sheriff and/or Innocents win if they survive until the Murderer is defeated or the time runs out. For the duration of the minigame, participants are placed in the Neutral team.
Participants are teleported to the construction site or park and enclosed by invisible walls. One player is randomly selected to be the Infected and is armed with an Infected Knife on top of having increased speed. On defeating another player, they will become another Infected, granting them the Infected Knife and speed bonus. The Infected's goal is to infect all players. Every other participant must avoid becoming infected until the timer runs out. For the duration of the minigame, participants are placed in the Neutral team.
